STRENGTH: SPLIT JERK
Let’s keep moving with our work with the split jerk. For the past two weeks we have spent a good amount of time talking about the basics. We have reviewed the footwork and technique on the colored tape pieces, and talked about the speed as to which you catch the bar being vital to a successful lift.
This week we are going to focus on the catch. Today, we will be making sure that we are getting low with the catch, and also stabilizing the catch before bringing our feet in. A good thing to do is to enforce a ‘3 second pause’ in the catch.
