STRENGTH: SPLIT JERK
Let’s quickly meet and go over the basics of the split jerk on the tape pieces on the floor. Basics include the dip and drive, landing and foot position, speed and other little ‘form tweaks’ things no one thinks about like heel turn, weight distribution, etc…
Once I turn you loose, work up to a moderately heavy single from the rig. If you are not comfortable with the push press or the push jerk, please feel free to spend the given time working on those!
WOD: 4 RFT*
5 HSPU
6 Pull-Ups
7 Hang Cleans (155/105)
-1 M REST-
*Since this WOD has ‘built in rest,’ your goal is to sprint through the rounds and attempt to keep all the movements unbroken. The reps are programmed so that this ‘unbrokenness’ should be a reality for most people. It should be fun because it’s a birthday WOD! Today, we get to celebrate Michaela. Even though I wouldn’t let her throw slamballs over the pull-up bars as a movement today, I think I did give her most of what she desired for her special day. She should be at the noon class tomorrow, so come on in and help us celebrate!
